Producing new clients with original music this summer keeps my soul alive!
April 9th! BIG DOING! the Grand Opening of "Songwriters in the Round" at Mikes Music Exchange in Eldorado , Santa FE!
Gotta introduce the vision, announce the wonderful local sponsors, and lead into the three most powerful female singer songwriters in the South west! 7-9 pm. All ages and all energies!
a Spring of 2010
March:Its official!!!!The Grand Opening of 'Songwriters in the Round" presented by myself and Mikes Music Exchange on April 9th is starring Cristen Grey, Madi Sato, and Celia!! 7-9 pm and exciting to the core!
Hope to see all supporters of original music works!!
The teaching experience is rolling along with many new classes and private courses of study. Largely due to The Candyman , Santa Fe's premier music store opening a wing of musical education right above it's retail store. I have been offering studies(private and classes) there since the end of last year , and many glorious new opportunities await and unfold! Go to www.candymanstringsandthings.com to view the teacher roster and all upcoming events of 2010!.
Production did halt on the upcoming CD during the latter of 2009.
Hoping to resume this late spring. As a artist with interior change always going on, a space to reflect exactly which way you musically wish to go or express, is always a better way to go.
But then sometimes you morph and grow a new direction. So it is right now. Careful choices to these 9 tracks are being decided, and they are different beyond what I ever thought to do. Ah well, growing up,
Producing vocal clients inside their studio experiences, is also growing.
Love to observe and assist a singer songwriter to be the best they can be and enjoy the recording process. The equally satisfying moments
of making great music,of teamwork is awesome.
Promoting and producing new events is also beginning.
A songwriter venue/home base is found and the concert series
is opening in April. Songwriters in the Round, the second Tuesday of each month at Mikes Music Exchange in LA Tienda.
I am promoting and hosting and receiving submissions for this ongoing
concert. The art of a great song is the heart and soul of all of us!
Do check the gig calendar here to be abreast of all the talented songwriters here in the South West who will grace the stage.
And writing.. new songs finally bubble up to the surface, and the style is the newest direction I have ever been. Life and art is a curious surprise !
!
All that is to be known is right here! Wellness and happiness in this coming year!

And producing alongside engineer Jon Gold, weekends in the mountains of Taos, is Charlie Vandiver's original Cd. All the guitar tracks are finally down, with tasty mando parts form Bob Bruen, and sweet piano from Kelvin McNeal. Charlie and I were featured on the front page of the paper The New Mexican on June 22. A story about my teaching and arranging the songwriter, and Chalie actually following that dream.
Got my first studio date of the summer in August..A fulfilling place to be with so much new material, I have to truly make choices which to record. Keep all the music on the move!
Summer 2009!
Many summer festivals and outdoor markets, and teaching lessons, and producing in studios. The second circle of Santa Fe singer songwriters, with five women on stage , was a joy to promote and participate in. Thank you to the women writers who shared parts of their inner hearts and the inner process, as well as the sounds of fine music.
Laurianne Fiorentino and I finally have met and performed together a couple of occasions. Amazing voice, amazing presence, soulful writer!
www.lauriannefiorentino.com
Cece Box, our outside invite from San Antonio, resided for the weekend in my home, and we played music for days! Shared strains of future songs half created, and are planning more gigs in her her native Texas. Please go to VioletFemmes.com, for a review of Volume 2, which is how and where Cece and I met. On a Cd of 19 women from around the world.
Skye Gibbins added a "New Thought" feel with her songs and flute playing, and spicing up the sounds of my new recorded tune"Dreamer".
And Laura Hays, making her first true debut, as our fledgling songwriter-singer, with humorous takes on day to day life.
Once a month through October, I am off to the mountains of Taos for long weekends producing a singer songwriter student Charles Vandiver.
See June 22 front page article at The Santa Fe New Mexcian for insight on this project. Thanks to Dennis Carrol , the reporter who contacted me out of the blue, after stumbling on my website, for the portrayal of the art of songwriting. Also in the soon to be now, the completion of 13 year old Amanda Baglione's "Thunder ,Not Yet Rain"
original Americana demo.
Amanda writes, sings , and picks her own guitar on her demo.
This goads me to plan during the month of August, a extended weekend for the next songwriting clinic. Watch for the news and dates of this right here!
And to finish tracking in the studio the next Cd release of my own.
The muse morphs as we grow, and a fair amount of the previously planned tracks, are simply not who I am any more. Give a listen to "Dreamer", one of the included tracks completed for the new Cd!
(Love to hear feedback, too)
And plenty of new tunes to choose from in this new mode are on deck to record. I am soloing them, as well as with the band.Band being Jon Myers on basses, Caitlin Thomas on violin/viola, and Adrienne Bellis singing duet vocals and hand percussion. That's the summer of music!
A few trips here and there, gigs in town and out, and those "toss the cards" song submissions to many ,many, publishing firms. Check the concert/dates schedule , and come on out to listen and enjoy!
Wellness and serenity to all.

March 1-
Just finished the People's Choice Concert at BODY of Santa Fe this weekend. And the first release of my new single"Dreamer",recorded at the end of 2008 at Stepbridge Studio in Santa Fe. Every audience member received a critic pack at the door, a sharpened pencil, and the freedom to sharpen their opinion about each song they heard coming form the stage. All un-recorded thus far tunes from myself and the band, and a cool way to truly connect and communicate with all of you that do the listening and the buying.
Hired on Rick Dorin, a fine acoustic guitar picker, to be my hands as I recover well from shoulder surgery. I surely enjoyed being cut loose as a singer, with no added responsibilities. Twas a fine night of music and a great audience. Many dear friends and fans were out.
Upcoming: My first "true" New Thought genre concert at the Santa Fe Center for Spiritual Living on April 4. Back home to me is this space.
I started working and participating in the Center 4 years ago when I moved to the area.So very much was learned and so much support was given. This is the sanctuary that brought the soulful spirit into my music. A fresh different "feel" to songs I normally do not have on the
set list. And always, those brand new tunes to keep up the "living in the edge" performance mode.
A long time dream of mine is to host and produce a ongoing series of professional singer songwriter concerts. With so many fine singer songwriters in New Mexico alone, finding the venue is the tricky part. I am proud to announce the first concert will be April 24 7:30 pm at BODY of Santa Fe. In a "Nashville tradition", four of us will take the stage together, and trade tunes and stories, all devoted to the inside angle in the art of songwriting.
Join Susan Abod, myself, Paul Dillon, and Doug Webb for the first intimate concert.
Remember to go to Violet Femmes.com for the 2009 compilation Cd of 18 "around the world" female artists.Post your comments and purchase the recording at Cd Baby . I am proud to be a part of the Cd, and flattered to have been chosen.
Mostly ,keep on keeping on.. we must retain our joy and creative spirit , and as we do , so shall those around us.
Will post the new song "Money" very soon, for a lighter perspective on what we don't have. Remember what we DO have!
Wellness and love to all.

January-The world begins again. And all of the beautiful music everywhere, and all the beautiful music yet to create.
Check out and listen to Violet Femmes My Space page, as volume 2 of their chosen songs is up for release. I am truly privledged to be on this CD. The other women from around the world make beautiful music, complex and rich, yet pure and flowing. Congrats to us all on the CD, and to Pam Southwell of RPW records for putting it together.
News from my camp-I am in the process of healing myself for the next few months..no guitar for 3 months to heal a shoulder, but I will still sing and record!
In fact , we are going in the studio for a 2 day recording of "Dreamer",one of the new tunes gaining lots of attention and requests.Sometimes you just can't wait , you got to go with it!
While I hang out for the winter, I will still be producing singer songwriter demos for clients ,and writing, and working on the album with Jon Myers of "New Thought" tunes.
Watch out ..Spring!! We are already booking festivals and events!
Stay tuned in , and well, and happy!
Lisa
NOVEMBER 2008-Winter is approaching! Travel and family is the main focus.
11/21 is a first for me, "New Thought" concert with rocking Steve Altermatt. SteveAltermatt.com. We will sit on stage like a Nashville singer songwriter evening, and trade tunes. Jon Myers will be playing bass with me, with guest stars Bee Zollo and Laura Hays. Looking forward to swapping songs and heart felt messages with Steve.
Thanksgiving week I will be on the road with all my children visiting Rochester NY and heading to West End SC. Along the end of the trip I await seeing Kayla Small, the 4th prodigy singer songwriter in my career I was lucky to meet and teach. Kayla has a "big " gig this weekend, opening for Sarah Guthrie in SC.
Here at home, Amanda Baglione is prepping and packaging her demo CD, soon to be released in early 2009, we recorded in my studio.Amanda and I are performing locally at Nina's Closet 11/15/08 from 4-6.
And I unleash my jewelery line ,"Stones of Meaning",the same day. same location. Rocks, minerals and crystals in necklaces and bracelets.

Recording with Jon Myers in Albuquerque NM continues with a release in late winter.
Blessings to all and more news for December!
OCTOBER 20, 2008
Songwriting Workshop a great success!
The more I am presented with teaching and instructing inside of songwriting and it's process, the more I feel it is what I want to do.
The creative process lives within each and everyone of us, whether you write, sing , dance ,talk, express in a art form ,cook, garden etc.
The creativity is simply THERE. The opportunity to express inside a muse, is paramount with well being.
May we all have our moments and opportunities.
Grooving with our new bass player, Jon Myers, and recording lean demos of all new tunes. As the songs come into the concert play list, it is apparent there is "Two" themes unfolding.." Americana" and "New Thought". The audience loves both. Everywhere. So, I play it all.
Exciting to be involved with Violet Femmes Music 2008 compilation Cd.
Pam Southwell of rpwrecords,Magic Puddle Productions, and Violet Femmes Music.com, is the in charge person to talk to!
She chose "Count Me In" , as that it what I submitted through Sonicbids. Women from around the world and their music that touches and resonates, is the company I am included with, and humbled to keep.

Be at peace in these times, and know we are all concious artists!

SEPTEMBER 2008
A wonderful trip into the very open state of Idaho!
Played in Idaho Falls and Pocatello to great audiences, met warm folks, dined well, and was hosted by dear friends Kathy and Daryl C in the Falls. For sure the whole mini tour will be repeated with added cities in the spring. My thanks to John Evans of Twisp ,WA, for being the "right hand man" on his axe, and playing awesomely! We are looking to have John and his wife Karen travel to Santa Fe in January and record tracks on the new CD. As this 6th CD evolves, there is ample material for a separate Cd of "New Thought" music to develop at the same time. Next on the list!
Back here in Santa Fe , the first singer songwriter CD demo of Amanda Baglione has been mastered and is in the outfitting phase. Keep on deck for her CD release event in the near future.
Surely Amanda will have on hand myself, Adrienne Bellis, and Caitlin Thomas to perform for her at her release! The music is very, very powerful as a statement of what our young people today are feeling, seeing, and determining. Watch this young lady!
Thank you to all the "new " and old friends who came out to Rainbow Visions on the 20th. The evening felt like a true concert venue and mood with the connection to the audience so very close.

AUGUST 2008
A summer spent writing new material, meeting new musicians, finding the bass player to enhance the band, moonlighting with Los Radiators, recording the first demo of a top student singer songwriter, recording new
tunes, and performing and touring in other Western cities.I am also proud to announce the gifts of bassist Jon Myer , from Albuquerque NM, joining us in future concert rooms. Jon performs with many bands, with a background in blues, jazz, and country. He, however can really rock!
His style compliments all of my Americana writing, and boosts our sound with a lyrical, driving bottom end.
Hear Jon's debut with the Lisa j Carman Band August 16th at Rainbow Visions in Santa Fe at 8:30 .
We will be again introducing 7 new tunes for the next CD consideration,
alongside selections from 2003's "Tame Me" and 2007 "Treasures and Trash", and the recent song list of this past year.
Caitlin, Adrienne, and Laura, are all on board as well.
Off to Idaho in early September! Idaho Falls and Pocatello to be exact.
On my most recent trip to Montana, I was relaxing on the shore of Flathead Lake, upon hearing the sounds of a excellent guitar form the room above me.
Long story short, the sounds were of guitarist John Evans hailing from Twisp, Washington.Yes, we met, yes we jammed, and in 24 hours, a synergy was created. John will join me in Idaho for our first mini tour, and we are in planning for spring -summer 2009. How the universe unfolds the meeting of musical minds, is a ongoing exciting mystery!.
She Sing Songs Productions will be releasing the demo Cd of teen songwriter Amanda Baglione this fall. Ms. Baglione has studied since 10 years of age, guitar, voice, and morphed over to songwriting 2 years ago.
I am proud to teach and mentor her, feature her performances , and watch her influence inspire other young talents.
Watch for this young lady, catch her as a opening act at my shows, and we will keep the public updated where to check her music out.
Another Songwriting Workshop is forthcoming this fall! Teaching songwriting is just about as satisfying as performing it!
Peace and well being to all! Send any thoughts and musical connections right here!

MARCH 2007
Welcome to the "new"site! To go along with a my new album and enter deeper into cyberspace, this is the fresh makeover to the website! We've made it easier for you to navigate and choose products, listen in,see my new directions,as well as get in touch with me.
AUGUST 2007
The formal release of "Treasures and Trash" was August 7th at the Santa Fe Brewing Co. Opening the show were four of the finest
youth singer-songwriters in Santa Fe.
Just so happens we all work together in my home studio on vocal technique, arrangements and performing chops.
Amanda Baglione, Veranique Mazire,Bobbi Joe Marquez, and Eryn Bent hit the stage with the studio band who recorded the Cd. Add Aysia Felson, Emma Sletteland, and Lauren Wilson on additional vocals too.
I am deeply grateful to all the musicians who made the night a musical fantasy for me.
Mark Clark on drums and duet vocals, Jeff Nelson on bass, Kevin Zoernig on keys, Daniel Ward on electric guitar, Caitlin Thomas (also in my personal band) on violin-viola, Chase Morrison on cello, Dave Devlin picking mandolin and dobro, and the exquisite main harmony vocalists: my band mate Adrienne Bellis, Cristen Grey, and Eryn Bent.
I opened with "Count Me In" and closed the evening with "One True Love'.In between were eighteen songs mixed from the"Tame Me" cd,and "Treasures and Trash".The night was like a belated unleashing of "Tame Me', and a concert scene for "Treasures and Trash".The biggest treat for me was putting my acoustic guitar in it's stand and simply being a singer.Just closing my eyes and being completely in the "now" of such fine music and players.
Did I mention we all dressed up too?
Photos will be posted very soon of the evening right here ,as well as a video of the finest moments.
Back at home here in Santa Fe, I finished producing the "Youngstar" EP of their original songs. Also completed at Stepbridge Studio with Micheal Chavez, and the studio band,
the next step is to continue fundraising to record other songs from the 8 "Youngstar" songwriters.
I have a link coming to this site for complete information about the "Youngstars", listening to their music ,song lyrics, and travels.
Also Cd number 6th is in the works. Reuniting with Dan Marfisi at Jones House in L.A., we have three songs with rhythm tracks ready. Again all new material with a rock-pop jazz feel.I am excited to create a slightly different sound, and work with Dan Marfisi again.
I'm still the song leader at The Santa Fe Center for Spiritual Living, every sunday morning. But what a rockin' scene it has become! Kelvin McNeal is our music director (and an excellent
concert pianist), Pamela Von Kirk on vocals and bass, Skye Gibbons playing flute and vocals, Cristen Grey on vocals and myself singing and playing. We all write new age music, and support each others debuts of it.hmmm.... maybe that will be the next cd to record?
Publishing all this music is truly the focus now. I am seeking a home for all of it, and considering starting my own publishing house. We shall keep you posted!
My thanks to Chris for the new web design, Shane Mieske for all the art and design, and Maya Rose for signing on as my publicist!
And to all of you out there for checking the site and buying music. Please feel free to write and share comments.
Thank you all for the support over the years, and welcome to my new website!
September 2007-
So all this cyber space process continues with a MySpace
music page. Once you are there, type in Lisa Carman and we will be posting and continuing more sweet info.
The fall is here with everyone hunkering down to work, including my students, my bandmates, and myself with publishing and producing all this music.
In my home studio ,the goal is to record on a digital 8 channel board, ALL the songwriting form the YOUNGSTARS !
Then they submit and copywrite. A great vechicle to learn the business, and understand how their musical expression can matter.
As i type this, i am in the process myself of continuing recording and developing a pop Ep ,or full length record with Dan Marfisi of Jones House in LA. And, in converstion with Craig Neal, in Santa Fe who owns and runs Sound Choice Production.
At this point in my career, I wish to record quality demos/records, and submit all to the correct sources. EP's of Country, New Thought, Movie/TV, Pop,and Americana are all being implemented.
At times it is as if a songwriting higher power rules my life!
Again. write and comment and share here, or on myspace and continue all the good we all have to offer.
Love and peace, Lisa
December 2007-
Greetings and wellness to all!
As we approach all the winter and holiday energies, tis the time to reflect and be thankful.
So I am. Since the Cd release, I have been deeply immersed in teaching and arranging songwriters in my home studio, learning to record on my own digital 8 channel recording unit, traveling to the east to see all relatives and friends and playing a "All High School Reunion" gig in my hometown, Penfield NY. A few gigs about Santa Fe with my trio of Caitlin Thomas and Adrienne Bellis. We continue to create new arrangements and new material. Thoughts about being in cyberspace... you CAN teach yourself to do it(however hard)
and it gives results! I am now involved in Taxi and Sonic Bids and working up to vidieos on My space Music page.
Same as the website .. type in :lisajcarman, and there shall I be! Submitting as much original work as possible, and writing new material at ta steady pace, i await being picked up to be published. Spent hours formulating a "pro" press kit which will be available early January.
The future manifestation, sooner than later, is my own publishing company. To catalog and encourage all talented songwriters, to put them in a position to be heard, continually create, and have influence in the many genres of todays music. I take huge interest in young or older talent, asssiting in arranging and editing. If you're out there and have something to share.. do it!
Writing new material constantly, in various genres, has taught me how to tweak and edit for either the "top 40" mentality, or the many , many, cult and generational venues.
Regarding my teaching youth in singing and songwriting, I am lining up master class clinics for the summer of 2008..
gotta pass on as much as possible because it feels good!
See all of you in 2008 in the summer at festivals accross the West and Oregon coast. Will post master class clinics on the site.
A safe and healthy winter season to all!
Lisa
Spring 2008"
Check out the "new" additions on the site! A video of Treasures and Trash" CD release concert! What a treat to edit and work in a different media. Easily could sidestep into the art direction of musical videos.
And a updated EPK for easy download ,with a management company to handle and assist in bookings, SheSingSongs Management.
I have spent the winter recording simple demos of guitar/piano/vocals
and charting music to every song i have ever written.
And writing many new songs of "New Thought" music, alongside of blues and Americana. As the spring comes into being, I will have to choose which songs merit recording for the next album. Three tunes are already tracked with Dan Marfisi of Jones House in L.A.
All others are being submitted to industry listings and songwriting contests.
A songwriters work is always ongoing.
The energy of co-creating is in the air as well. Writing music to others lyrics, and editing other artists new works is a on-going avenue i am traveling. Maya Rose Mcknight and Laura Hays are the newest artists I am working with. And the YOUNGSTARS continue to write individually
and develop each song in their private lessons.
Three student teen songwriters are now recording their personal demos here in the studio. With plans to master and package them to sell by summer. I truly enjoy engineering these recordings and witnessing the students joy in accomplishing their music to a disc.
Early summer myself and Kelvin McNeal are offering a singer-songwriter master class June 16- 20 here in Santa Fe. Daytime class is 11-4; night time class is 6-9 pm. A performance at BODY Friday night at 7:30 is a chance for the songwriters to share their talents with the public.

And of course, we are booking concert gigs throughout the summer/ fall.
A exciting addition is Laura Hays on piano/keys. With her smooth jazz/blues styles, I get to put my guitar down every now and then and be just a singer. Check out the "new" state of the art EPK, designed by Shane Mieske in the promo section!
Peace to all, and wellness of spirit for everyone.
